Committee on Therapeutics and Pharmaceuticals Science Short History

 

The Committee on Therapeutics and Pharmaceuticals Science arises from joining the former Committee of Therapy and Committee of Drug Sciences in the year 2001.

The first President of the new Committee was nominated prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Herman (Silesian Academy of Medicine) and as vice Presidents were elected prof dr hab. Mirosława Goleniewska- Furman (Warsaw Academy of Medicine) and prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Hermann (Poznan University of Medical Sciences).

Prof. Mirosława Goleniowska-Furman chaired the Committee for the next two terms of office (2007-2011).

In the next years up to 2019 prof. dr hab. Jan Pachecka (Warsaw University of Medical Sciences) presided the Committee. At the end of his fruitful terms of office he was awarded as the second (along with prof. dr hab. Kornel Gibiński) Honorary Member of the Committee.

Among the member of the Committee were ordinary members of Polish Academy of Sciences: prof. dr hab. Anna Członkowska, prof. dr hab. Andrzej Górski, prof. dr hab. Kornel Gibiński oraz prof. dr hab. Roman Kaliszan.

During  its 20 years history the Committee organized several conferences and thematic meetings and provided expert opinions within the field of its expertise namely clinical pharmacology and therapy, synthesis and analysis of drugs, technology of pharmaceutical forms, biopharmacy and clinical pharmacy, pharmacognosy, as well as science policy.
